LC&D Individual Luminaire Control

LC&D Xpoint

Individually addressable luminaires provide the ultimate in lighting control flexibility, enabling occupant control options, load shedding, and highly responsive daylight harvesting control in addition to schedule- and occupancy-based automatic shutoff.

Combining these control strategies in a single space was a complex and expensive undertaking prior to the digital revolution. Now, multiple strategies can be economically combined and implemented through a single communication architecture.

Some DALI-based and proprietary lighting control systems use a digital dimming ballast as the controller, but these ballasts can be expensive. LC&D has a different solution, called XPoint.

XPoint provides all of the features of a networked relay without the panel. Mounting close to the load it controls, the XPoint contains two outputs for control of individual luminaires, strings of luminaires or something in between. Ideal for retrofit as well as new construction, XPoint can implement any switching strategy and interface with analog dimming ballasts, which are less expensive than digital dimming ballasts. For global control, XPoint relays can be daisy chained using Category 5 cabling and connected to a programmable master controller.

With XPoint, all of the benefits of digital lighting control are available for your next project, but with greater flexibility in matching the relay to control zones and without the significant cost of digital ballasts or the hassles of DALI.
