Ardee Clikstrip LED
Ardee has ClikstripTM LED "festoon lamps" that work with ClikstripTM and also allow retorfit into standard clips in existing product. They also manufacture ClikstripTM LED HPL lamps that allow you to retrofit existing Xenon systems by removing 3 lamps and 2 lamp holders. Optical accessories are available to customize the beam of the 3 Nichia High Power LEDs. Circuitry allows for operation on 24V DC and dimming to 33%.

Savi LED Lamps
Nexxus Lighting (based right here in Charlotte) has many options available in their line of Savi LED lamps. These lamps provide up to 50,000 hours lamp life and save up to 75% energy over comparable-output incandescent sources. They have MR16, R16, R20, R25, R30, and R38 commercial lamps as well as G11, G25, flametip, and candelabra decorative lamps; one to fit all of your retrofit or new construction needs. These lamps can easily pay for themselves in 2-3 years in normal installations. They are even more advantageous in hard-to-reach or always-on installations.

Lithonia ES8
es8TM lighting represents a breakthrough in fluorescent systems, fusing high-performance T8 technology with an extremely efficient and comfortable distribution of light. Unlike common parabolic fixtures employing three standard-life, standard-output T8 lamps, es8TM systems use just two long-life, high-efficiency, superior color-rendering lamps.

Lithonia RT5
Due to its high-quality components and optimized fixture design, RT5 is an extremely efficient luminaire that's good for the natural environment. It delivers the right amount of light throughout the space, while providing up to 33% savings in energy over a standard 18 cell, three-lamp T8 parabolic. It can also help exceed stringent energy regulations, such as California's Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1, and IECC.

39W T6 Metal Halide Lamps
39W lamps and ballasts used in many different products can be used to instead of (or to retrofit) 70W PAR MH lamps.  These have worked well for us in both Amerlux and Con-Tech track heads in retail applications, providing equivalent illuminance while saving up to 43 system Watts (over 50%).  Lamp-specific optical designs provide greater efficacy to allow for this energy savings.

Watt Stopper
Watt Stopper has a variety of control products that allow for reduced energy impacts, and they have developed a sustainability guide to discuss the issues and options.  Controls are an excellent way to reduce energy consumption by dimming or extinguishing lights when no one needs them.  Daylight harvesting or occupancy sensing can also gain points for those LEED projects, and they are slowly becoming a standard product in construction.

Osram Sylvania QHE Ballast and XPS Lamp
The Quicktronic High Efficiency (QHE) lamp/ballast system provides 6% energy savings over standard electronic T8 ballasts and up to 44% over F40T12 magnetic systems.  When coupled with Super Saver lamps, this system (two lamps) provides 4800 initial lumens while consuming only 48W, which is an 18% savings over the generic electronic ballast used as “standard” in many products.

Zumtobel Impacts Sustainability
Zumtobel uses eco-friendly practices throughout their business.  On top of intelligent product design bringing you efficient products, they have implemented sustainable practices in their facilities.  They have moved to a biodegradable louver cleaner, installed a revolutionary waste water treatment system, use recycled packing wherever possible, and installed new powdercoat equipment that improves quality and is environmentally friendly.  Read more here.

B-K Lighting LED Path and Step Lights
LEDs have certainly made the leap from indicator to illuminator.  B-K has developed the Mini-Micro line of path lights, in-grades, floodlights, and sconces with an LED lamp in a variety of colors and color temperatures.  They also have a wide variety of solid-state step lights to allow you to achieve your sustainable and lighting design goals – long lamp life and high lamp efficacy.

Velux Skylights

What’s more friendly to our planet than using the Sun to light our interior spaces?  You’re right.  Nothing.  Velux manufactures a wide variety of skylights, roof windows, and Sun Tunnel™ skylights to allow you many ways to illuminate interior spaces while reducing the need for electric power, and you may even be able to get a EPAct 2005 rebate.

Traxon LED Cove Lighting
Among their many solid-state lighting products, Traxon has a cove light that is a great alternative to the same old fluorescent strip you’ve used time and time again, and don’t forget that LED sources are great for outdoor situations where low temperature might negatively impact a fluorescent strip.  This product allows you to couple an energy-saving light source with the ability to create millions of colors if you choose an RGB array product, controlled by radio-frequency or DMX.

Zumtobel IDOS (Integrated Daylight/Occupancy Sensor)
With the Integrated Daylight/Occupancy Sensor (IDOS), Zumtobel provides a single-source solution for daylight harvesting and occupancy control of suspended direct/indirect products.  Controlling the electric light with IDOS provides smooth transitions and reduces electric power consumption, saving the customer money, and saving our planet.

Venture Pulse-Start Lamps
Probe-start metal halide lamps have been around forever.  Consequently, that technology is simply not state-of-the-art, and because of that, you’re wasting energy when you specify them on your projects.  Venture Lighting has the widest range of pulse-start metal halide lamps in the industry.  Consider using a 320W PS MH instead of that old 400W probe-start on your next project.  Go here to read how Uni-form pulse-start systems can positively impact your next project and the environment.
