Space was designed by Tara Longo of The J Mason Group to feel playful, comforting and inviting for the youth clientele.
Attention was given to how the lighting interacted with the space and its architectural design. One example is the use of the;"Tapestry" fixture by d'ac Lighting on the surface of the drop-soffit ceilings.
To maximize the functionality of the space, special care was used in selecting the overhead lighting above the dental chairs. The challenge was to eliminate harsh direct light and significant glare, while at the same time providing quality light levels. Zumtobel's Surface Mount Mellow Light proved the perfect solution in creating a space conducive to precise dentistry and the comfort of the patients.
The reception desk lighting is intended to provide as much light as possible without creating too much interference with the background logo. Use of Con-Tech's "Magellan Rail" was used to help visually 'frame' the background logo wall as well as serve the dual purpose of accent lighting the graphics.
Other unique aspects of the space include the use of "Tile 64 Reflectors Panels" by Traxon Technologies. These 19"x19" LED reflective panels occupy a 4x3 grid along one wall. Visitors to the office can occupy the bank of seating adjacent to the wall, and watch the almost-imperceptible color-shifting LED's change over the preset interval of time, in the hopes that the slow color-changing modes may help to settle nerves, anxieties, etc.
